Post-Bac and Pre-Professional Programs
Post-Baccalaureate Programs
MMC’s Post-Baccalaureate Programs are non-degree-granting programs designed for college graduates who wish to fulfill science pre-requisites for medical, dental, or speech-language pathology graduate programs, or other science-related professional programs. Post-bac students receive individual attention from expert professors in a close-knit liberal arts environment, right in the heart of New York City.
Post-Bac Biology
We offer course sequences appropriate for M.D., D.O., P.A., P.T., R.N., D.V.M., D.D.S., and other allied health programs. Post-bacs choose from an array of biology, chemistry, physics, and math courses. We work closely with post-bacs to determine appropriate placement into courses based on academic experience and career goals.
Post-Bac Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
We provide the coursework and the 25 observation hours required for entry into speech-language pathology graduate programs. In addition, clinical experience in our Ruth Smadbeck Speech and Hearing Center may be available with the permission of the department.

Pre-Med Program
For many years, a Pre-Med or Pre-Professional track has been a major focus of the Natural Sciences department at MMC. Programs within the department provide excellent educational training for those who wish to go on to professional programs after graduation including Medical, Dental, and Veterinary school as well as graduate school in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or Nutrition. These programs are particularly well suited to students double-majoring in other disciplines. The Natural Sciences department offers many levels of support to its Pre-Med students, from pre-professional committees that guide students in their preparation for professional programs to seminars that bring health professionals to speak to students in our program. Pre-Law Cluster
Law school is the gateway to fulfilling, prosperous career opportunities in the justice system, activism, business and finance, and government, and many other areas. MMC has the resources to prepare you for law school and get you started on this career path. There is no specific major required for law school applicants. Any major that promotes foundational skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, oral and written expression, research and assimilation of complex data, and understanding of diverse perspectives can serve as an excellent foundation for law school. But beyond the major, MMC students can enhance a law school application by taking courses within the MMC Pre-law Cluster.
Allied Health Professions
Looking to mix personal interactions with a career in health services, teaching, or the sciences? The Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology (SLP&A) major is a great way to prepare yourself for grad school and your career in the allied health professions: you could be a speech-language pathologist or audiologist, an ESL teacher or a sign language interpreter, a special education teacher, or rehabilitation counselor? The possibilities are endless to find a career you’ll love.
SLP&A majors are in-demand: according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2014), there will be a 21% increase in job openings for speech-language pathologists between 2014 and 2024.
