I’ve always wanted to combine my love of music with my interest in business and my studies at MMC support that. As an aspiring jazz singer, musicianship classes are important to help hone-in on my craft. Because my music teachers are professionals in the field, they have also become my mentors. In addition, the business classes offered make me a better well-rounded artist because it provides me with tools to be more independent and make informed decisions behind the scenes of making music. A highlight of my studies at MMC was my internship at Jazz at Lincoln Center in the Branding, Sales & Marketing department. My experience included: assisting professional jazz musicians, going to concerts, conducting market research for an upcoming album, and organizing inventory for the in-house record label. After my internship I was selected to present my work at Honors Day. I am grateful to the business department faculty who were so excited and supportive of my collaboration of music and business.

The business program at MMC is a hidden jewel with professors who are both excellent professionals and dedicated mentors. I was encouraged to constantly challenge myself and explore career paths. My advisors and professors helped me obtain scholarships and internships and were great counselors when it came to selecting a job that I loved. I received six job offers as I was getting ready to graduate and my professors helped guide me through the decision making process.Upon graduation, I decided to take a position as a Global Commercial Risk Analyst with Citigroup.
