As part of our ongoing exploration of the food cultures of NYC’s immigrant neighborhoods, we visited the Lower East Side, once a vibrant Jewish immigrant neighborhood, to visit some classic eateries – Kossar’s Bialys, Katz’s Deli, Russ & Daughters – and to see how gentrification is changing the culinary and cultural landscape of this neighborhood.
