Class of 2017, Finance Major

Minors in Accounting and Economics

At MMC I experienced the same sense of community I had back home; it is a place where I learned to embrace my strengths and improve on my weaknesses. The classes I have taken at Marymount gave me a strong educational foundation to continue graduate studies at a top business school. My professors truly offered me valuable advice and inspiration during my years at MMC, and supported me as I applied for graduate school.

“I was accepted at a very competitive program at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. I am in the Master of Finance Program on the Corporate Finance and Investments track where I was also offered a generous scholarship. In addition, I was accepted to University of Edinburgh, Pepperdine University and University of Rochester (with a 75% scholarship).

I cannot be more grateful for the entire experience and support Marymount has offered me!”

About

While at Marymount, I participated in different clubs and volunteered with poverty alleviation organizations such as the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and the Alternative Spring Break 2016 with MMC Serves in Baltimore, Maryland.

Additionally, I completed several internships alongside my studies: I interned for the deVere Group, a U.K.-based wealth management firm; I was a finance-accounting intern at Queens Botanical Gardens, a non-profit agency; I completed a summer internship as an analyst for Kettle Hill Capital Management, a hedge fund; and I worked as a finance intern at Motivate Design, a User Experience related staffing, research, and design business.

Although I was born in the U.S., I lived much of my life in Medellin, Colombia. At MMC I experienced the same sense of community I had back home; it is a place where I learned to embrace my strengths and improve my weaknesses. The classes I have taken at Marymount gave me a strong educational foundation to continue graduate studies at a top business school. My professors truly offered me valuable advice and inspiration during my years at MMC, and supported me as I applied for graduate school.
