MMC Review Co-Sponsors Open Mic Night

Wednesday April 9th: The MMC Review, Advocates for Wellness Education (AWE), and Those Vagabond Tribes brought together a variety of artists to support Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Students from three groups at Marymount Manhattan College hosted an open mic in the Nugent Lounge on Wednesday, April 9th from 7:30-9pm. The event was created to help support and advocate for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the well-known movement, Take Back the Night. Over two dozen students gathered in the lounge to hear some of their peers perform original work, poetry, and music; all within the broad topic of empowerment. At the end of the night, AWE led a moment of silence to honor victims and survivors of sexual assault and concluded the event with a glowstick vigil.
