Joint MS Program with Pace
Earn your master’s degree in publishing
Marymount Manhattan College has a unique partnership with Pace University that allows up to 2 qualified students per year to begin pursuing their Masters degree in Publishing while completing their undergraduate degree. Interested students should contact EWL professor Peter Naccarato to hear more about the application process. Students majoring in English and World Literatures, Communication Arts, or Business with a GPA of 3.0 or higher may apply in the second semester of their junior year for acceptance to the program. In their senior year, accepted students take twelve credits in publishing courses at Pace which count both toward the B.A. degree at Marymount and toward the Masters degree at Pace. Students can, therefore, complete both degrees in five years – a great savings of time and money.
This program offers considerable advantages for students who are eager to establish themselves on a career path beyond entry level positions in publishing. The program should be particularly attractive to students who have strong interests in language, literature, and writing. The dynamic, fast-changing publishing industry is a natural arena for the practical application of such interests. Internships at various publishing companies (magazine and book) will enhance the opportunities for students to acquire professional experience before graduation.
