MMC Alumna’s Short Film to Premiere at Online New England Film Festival

Joy, a short film written and directed by recent graduate Emilee Wermenchuk ’20, will be shown in the Online New England Film Festival from Tuesday, September 8 until Wednesday, October 14.

Produced during Wermenchuk’s final semester at MMC, Joy follows the story of a young woman whose love for music and dance transforms a corporate office space. Wermenchuk, who double-majored in Digital Media & Video Production and Producing & Management, went on to win the Producing Excellence Award at Showcase 2020 for her work.

“I am so excited for this film to be shared with MMC,” says Wermenchuk. “This would not have been possible without all of you and I couldn’t be more grateful! For those who haven’t seen the film yet, I hope it brings you the same JOY that it brings me!”

Interesting in watching Joy? Watch the film until October 14 via the Online New England Film Festival.

Congratulations Emilee! Great work!
