Our Intern Program
As a Communication and Media Arts student, in addition to receiving a great education from our wonderful faculty, you can take advantage of our wonderful internship program, where you will gain exposure to industries within one of the largest and greatest cities in the world. In addition to working closely with an on-site, organizational supervisor, the student will also have a MMC faculty adviser, who will create a structured syllabus to provide an academic component that will complement the internship experience. Over the past five years, our department has placed 412 Communication and Media Arts students into internships in the New York City area, performing work in the following areas: pre-production, sound design, production, post-production, advertising, media analysis, corporate communication, human resources, marketing, media relations, journalism, public relations, web design, video production, publicity management, fundraising, health campaigns, and media sales.
Some places our students have interned include organizations such as Rachel Ray, CBC Sports Radio, The Dr Oz Show, Epic Records, CNN, Harper’s Bazaar, the Tribeca Film Festival, NBC Latino, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Michael Kors, Marie Claire Magazine, Saturday Night Live, Urban Daddy, The Tonight Show, The Village Voice, Sirius XM Radio, Clear Channel, The Late Show with David Letterman, Upright Citizens Brigade, The New York Times, Film Forum, The View, Silver Cup Studios, Rolling Stone Magazine, NBC Universal, Nickelodeon, Diesel, and 95.5 WPLJ, and many more.
