MMC’s “Public Affairs and Political Reporting” Students Cover the 100th Annual NYC Veterans Day Parade

Students in Public Affairs and Political Reporting with Tatiana Serafin, MFA, Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Arts and Coordinator of Journalism at MMC, canvassed parade-goers at New York City’s 100th annual Veterans Day Parade to find out what veterans and families are thinking ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

President Trump’s motorcade drove by as students began their interviews. The President was in New York City to kick off the parade, and students saw him waving to gathering crowds on 5th Avenue near Grand Central. The first half of the parade featured young ROTC students, and later the main parade began. Spectators patiently waited as vendors sold flags and nearby restaurants gave out lunch fliers. Students’ interviews can be found on the Digital Journalism medium blog.
