Alumna Paige Gawley ’16 Discusses Work as Staff Writer for Entertainment Tonight

Paige Gawley

Gawley, who graduated from MMC’s Communication and Media Arts program with a journalism minor, shared her experience as a intern building her skills at the New York Post and MTV News. These critical opportunities, she explained, soon helped her secure a job as a Staff Writer for Entertainment Tonight. 

After discussing her work experience, Gawley provided the budding journalists in the room wisdom gleaned throughout her career so far: stay on top of the news, always have a few pitches ready to go, create a website to showcase your work, purchase a digital recorder to avoid technology malfunctions, and become an expert on one or two topics (e.g., Gawley is the go-to reporter for anything Gilmore Girls at ET).
