MMC Faculty Take Part in NYRR Grete’s Great Gallop

On Sunday, October 1, 2017, faculty members from three of the College’s academic divisions participated in this year’s Grete’s Great Gallop, a 10-kilometer race celebrating the life of running legend Grete Waitz.

Six MMC faculty participated in the run, including English and World Literatures professors Jennifer Brown, Cecilia Feilla, Magda Maczynska, and Julie Huntington, along with Andrea Tsentides (Accounting) and Jennifer Dixon (Communication and Media Arts).

Over 6,000 runners took to Central Park this past weekend to celebrate Grete Waitz, often considered the greatest female distance runner of all time who, between 1978 and 1988, won the NYC Marathon nine times. Congratulations to all who completed the 10k, with a special shout-out to Dr. Huntington who placed first in her age/gender group!
