Watson Fellow Amanda Sherwin ’19 Published in the Gotham Gazette
Amanda Sherwin ’19 is currently completing her first summer experience as a Jeannette K. Watson Fellow which has included an internship at the Gotham Gazette. Last week the Gazette published an article that Amanda wrote about contaminated water in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Amanda is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida. She attended St. Petersburg High School, where she served for 3-years as an officer and Executive President of the Student Government Association, and additionally, served as Head Coordinator for a fundraising talent showcase for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
As a freshman at Marymount Manhattan, Amanda was a member of the Emerging Leaders Program and was a member of the Marymount Residence Hall Council. Amanda is a dancer who has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and theatre dance since the age of three. She has also worked as a tutor and as a caregiver for children ages 5-12, providing home supervision and tutoring services in English, Spanish, History and Science. She is a double major in Dance & Media and Communication & Media Arts.
