Stand Up! Speak Out! Success!

Congratulations to all participants of the Stand Up Speak Out Film Festival! The Second Annual festival was a collaboration between Communication and Media Arts, Fine Arts, and Theater Arts.

Starting Feb 14, in response to issues presenting by students at MMC, teams of students set out to  produce  original films addressing race, gender and religion. On Feb 26, 24 hour play and dance teams wrote and choreographed response pieces to the films. This culminated in screenings and live performance in the Great Hall on Sat Feb 27. Keep an eye out for a Fine Arts exhibition showcasing portraits and verite photography of the participants and productions.

In the meantime, all can watch the behind the scenes video below, and the short films will be added soon!

Thanks to all for creating work that stands up and speaks out for social justice. We look forward to you using your influence towards change.
