EWL Major Emily Lourie Published in THE ARTIFICE

Double-major Emily Lourie’s essay “Poetic Realization through Death in Jean Cocteau’s Orphée and Dante’s The Divine Comedy” has been published on the arts website, The Artifice.
“A poet is not only a writer who composes lines with deeper meaning than what appear on the surface; a poet is an individual possessed with the gift of creation.”
 

Emily Lourie, a junior double-major in English and World Literatures and Philosophy and Religious Studies has been published by The Artifice, an online magazine that covers a wide variety of arts and unique topics. Emily’s article is based on her research for Fall 2015’s French and Francophone Film course with Dr. Julie Huntington.
