Congratulations to the Communication and Media Arts and Theatre Arts Collaboration on “Black Lives Matter: Stop and Film!”

This past weekend marked the beginning of the Communication and Media Arts and Theatre Arts Collaboration on “Black Lives Matter: Stop and Film,” an event in which students and faculty work together to create films about race, policing, and white privilege.

Coordinated and led by Erin Greenwell, the film festival gives participants an opportunity to creatively explore their experiences and ideas on the current state of our society and how it reacts to racism. Erin is joined by colleagues Millie Falcaro, Dan Hunt, Mary Fleischer, Daphnie Sicre, Sarah Wright, and Timothy Johnson, who prepared a series of workshops on Saturday in order to help the students with preproduction on their projects and will continue to assist throughout the duration of the event. This coming weekend, students will film their pieces and their final compilations will be shown during a video screening at a later date. Congratulations to our students and faculty for this tremendous undertaking and their accomplishments so far!
