Noelle Griffis (PhD, Indiana University) joined the faculty of Marymount Manhattan College in the fall of 2018. Her teaching and research interests include film and television history and aesthetics, American independent cinema, New York City filmmaking, industry studies, race and gender in media, production cultures, and media policy. She has contributed to Black Camera and to recent edited collections, including Hollywood on Location: An Industry History and Screening Race in American Nontheatrical Film. She is also the Reviews Editor for Mediapolis: A Journal of Cities & Culture.
