A double major in English and World Literatures and Writing for the Stage, Pun currently works for The Dramatists Guild of America as the National Conference Writing Workshop Coordinator.
About
Co-valedictorian of the Class of 2017, English and World Literatures graduate Penny Pun held numerous internships throughout her career at MMC, including at Theatre Communications Group, Primary Stages, and the Dramatists Guild of America. During the summer of 2017, Penny worked as a literary intern for the Williamstown Theatre Festival in New York City. EWL Professor Cecilia Feilla spoke about Penny during the 2017 Gold Key ceremony, saying, “Penny is an excellent student and a truly creative intellectual. Her thesis examines linguistic encoding of disability and anxiety in the reception of such codes. However, because existing theories about disabled narratives fall short of articulating how that anxiety occurs, Penny has decided that she must develop her own theory – one that rejects concerns about what happens before and after disability. This is only one example of the outstanding work that Penny has produced in all of her English & World Literatures classes.”
