As an Associate Intern at Arielle-Wren, Inc. she is responsible for providing support in managing events, publicity, and social media accounts. She has collaborated with WABC-7 anchors Sandra Bookman and Rob Nelson for segments pertaining to clients that she works with at Arielle-Wren, Inc. Melanie serves as the liaison between current or prospective clients and the CEO of Arielle-Wren, Inc. to ensure that information is exchanged and projects are running smoothly. Recently, she served as a reporter for The One Hundred Black Men, Inc. of New York 36th Annual Benefit Gala. While at the event, she interviewed the President of OHBM, Michael J. Garner, WABC-7 anchor Sade Baderinwa, Mayor Bill de Blasio, District 9 Council Member Inez E. Dickens, President and CEO of the NAACP and NY District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr.

In addition, Melanie recently accepted an internship offer at Rubenstein Communications to work at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. Her responsibilities include assisting account executives with press breaks and media clippings, assisting with press screenings and red carpet premiers, and staffing for the on-site press office during the festival. Melanie is no stranger to hard work and enjoys working in a fast paced environment, she finds it stimulating and allows her to think quickly on her feet!

“Throughout my four years at MMC, the CommArts Department was helpful in providing courses that were exciting but yet fundamental. I strongly believe that those courses gave me a better understanding of the communications field. With the courses that I took part in and the advice that I received from professors and advisors I felt confident about the field that I was particularly interested in and furthermore I felt more than prepared to break into that field. I’m thankful to the faculty and staff at MMC as a whole because without their presence and effort the programs, departments and students of the college would not be as successful. Without my experience an undergraduate student at MMC, I would not be where I am today.”
