Irene Chrysafi

About

Irene received her B.A. in English Literatures, Language, and Criticism from Hunter College, CUNY and continued her studies at Teachers College, Columbia University where she received her M.A. in English Education. Since commencing her career in higher education, Irene has taught a variety of composition and writing courses at John Jay College, Lehman College, and most recently, Marymount Manhattan College.

Irene’s academic interests include composition/rhetoric and multicultural education. She is deeply invested in encouraging students to recognize the necessity of developing strong language and writing skills in today’s world. Offering a platform for students to master the craft of writing, while discovering their own voices as writers, is what excites her most about teaching.
