Giving Opportunities
Welcome, Friends of Dance!
Your landing on this page tells us of your interest in the visible artistry and the invisible work that goes into the education and the performances of dancers.
We at the Dance Advisory Board and you are partners in supporting the myriad ways in which our dance students learn within the nurturing environment of the MMC Dance Department.
We foster friendship and promote these deserving students. You support them through your generous gifts for enriched opportunities, for which we are very grateful. Together we find many different ways to give.
Listed to the right of this page are several ways to give that will greatly enhance the dance training and educational experiences of our talented dancers. We encourage you to choose one that most resonates with you.
Proceeds from the annual Dance Gala Fund and other donations provide additional valuable opportunities for MMC dance students. Among others, these may include workshops with noted choreographers such as Chase Brock, Robert Battle, Andrea Miller, members of Batsheva Dance Company, and the acquisition of music and performance rights to more challenging works. In addition, funds may be used to establish scholarships such as the ones listed below.
The Glorianne Jackson Scholarship Fund honors Professor Glorianne Jackson, who during her tenure at MMC was instrumental in establishing its dance department and its BA and BFA programs. Funds from this scholarship benefit MMC students from underrepresented populations in financial need who are pursuing their BFA or BA in Dance.
The Michael McArthur Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of MMC dance alumnus Michael McArthur ’08. The scholarship is based on merit and financial need.
With much gratitude and friendship,
