Essential Job Function
The Assistant Director for Leadership and Involvement supports the mission of Marymount Manhattan College, and the functions of Office of Student Development and Activities in the areas of coordinating a comprehensive student involvement and leadership program based on student development principles for a multicultural student population. Responsibilities include overseeing Registered Student Organizations (RSO), developing new RSOs, overseeing the Leadership Scholars Program, the Emerging Leaders Program, and the Peer Leaders Program, while developing and initiating student leadership programing.
The Assistant Director for Leadership and Involvement assists in the development and implementation of major College events such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, Peer Leader training, Accepted Students Day, Homecoming Weekend, and Commencement. The Assistant Director for Leadership and Involvement will also oversee the Student Activities Suite (SOS), support research initiatives, and oversee the allocation of resources for Registered Student Organizations, write student engagement assessment reports, and assist in the counseling of students regarding compliance with college and department rules and regulations. The Assistant Director for Leadership and Involvement is responsible for the implementation and execution of the department’s assessment tool and general oversight of MMC Engage.
The position reports directly to the Director of Student Development and Activities, and works closely with students, other Student Success and Engagement departments, academic departments, and faculty.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the day to day onboarding, registration process, budget allocation and continued support Registered Student Organizations; assist in the development of new RSOs, support faculty/staff advisors of RSOs and attend larger RSO and organization programs.

Develop and conduct semesterly RSO trainings and workshops for RSOs and RSO Advisors.
-
Create, review and update RSO policies as needed, and update the MMC RSO Handbook on a yearly basis.
-
Serve as the point person for MMC Engage, the College’s comprehensive student engagement platform.
-
Serve as the advisor to the Core Council, and assist with the planning and execution of Core Council activities, including the Core Council Professional Development Grant, and other projects.

In conjunction with the faculty advisors, oversee the campus newspaper and its publishing schedule.

Maintain and monitor RSO budgets; approve and process invoices/payments for budgetary expenditures; maintain program tracking databases and files for student activities; collect data for program evaluation, measurement and verification activities; prepare data for statistical, financial, participant and program activity reports.

Manages petty cash for the Office of Student Development and Activities, MMC Registered Student Organizations, and special groups at the direction of the Director of Student Development and Activities.

Assists with counseling students regarding compliance with college rules and regulations.

Maintain current and accurate website information for the Office of Student Development and Activities, Registered Student Organizations, RSO leaders and other student leaders.

Create and distribute a weekly campus activities newsletter to the MMC community.

Supervise the selection and awarding of the Leadership Scholarships.

Coordinate and execute advertising, nominations process, award selection committee and logistical elements of annual Student Leadership Awards.

Develop and execute leadership-training programs including the Annual Leadership Summit, Leadership Immersion Weekends, Emerging Leaders and Leadership Scholars.

Coordinate the selection, training, and development of the Peer Leader Program

In conjunction with the Director, serve as the chair of the Homecoming Musical Production Committee.

Serve on campus committees, which may include but are not limited to: Awards of Distinction, Student Speaker and Lou Martarano Scholarship committees

Participate as an active member of the Student Development and Activities team; attend meetings, retreats and trainings, and provide support to major department-wide programs.

Safeguards the confidentiality of students by exercising discretion in communicating information to faculty, students, and staff served by the College, and in the handling of administrative records, files, and confidential items.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Master’s degree plus two years of professional student life experience.
Skills and Attributes: The position requires the ability to work independently on several projects simultaneously and possess effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all constituencies of Student Success and Engagement, and work collaboratively with other colleagues. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and the Internet. Must be able to acquire proficiency with desktop publishing software and “Colleague,” the institutional software system.

Position Description
The Assistant to the Vice President for Student Success and Engagement provides administrative support to the Vice President for his/her institution-wide responsibilities. This person assists with many of the day to day aspects of the Vice President’s various responsibilities, as well as providing support to the departmental leadership team.
Reporting directly to the VP, the position, in part, entails acting as protégé to the VP, assisting in the management of his/her daily activities, including fielding internal and external issues by phone or in person, assisting with scheduling and time management, reviewing, pre-approving and managing divisional budgets. In addition, this person will be involved in the administrative aspects for the entire division of Student Success and Engagement, including but not limited to; budget management, meeting organization, ordering supplies, answering phones, directing students and general administrative work as assigned.
Serves as a primary point of direct administrative contact and liaison between the Vice President and other College administrators, the Board of Trustees, Divisional Chairs, faculty, staff, students, and external institutions and agencies on a range of issues. The Assistant handles or has access to considerable confidential material such as budget/salary information within the division, personnel assessments and issues, Board of Trustee information, and so forth.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent should have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The incumbent may attend and/or plan meetings of various types and would handle all matters regarding such meetings, including contact with attendees, agendas, minutes and scheduling, audio visuals, catering, and so forth.

Assist with programmatic, managerial, and administrative matters relative to the departments within Student Success and Engagement.

Assist in the preparation and administration of the division’s budget. Develop and maintain office files, budget records, payroll and personnel files.

Responsible for the procurement and inventory of office supplies and equipment.

Generate reports, retrieve data, compile statistics, organize and present information in a useable and understandable format.

Manage the mail, phone calls, and calendar for the Vice President.

Provide administrative support to the Vice President, including the following: arrange and schedule meetings; type reports, correspondence, minutes and related materials; draft and respond to routine correspondence; prepare and maintain reports and spreadsheets.

Oversee planning and managing of a variety of meetings, conferences, workshops and special projects

Safeguard the confidentiality of the college administration by exercising discretion in communicating information to faculty, students, staff served by the College and in handling administrative records, files, and similar confidential items.

Assist with the planning and participation of key divisional events, such as open house, accepted student days and Griffin days.

Position Description
The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management will report to the Vice President for Student Success and Engagement and oversee the college’s admissions and financial aid offices. The AVP will be responsible for formulating the overall strategy for recruiting, admitting, matriculating, and formulating and implementing the college’s financial aid strategy and enrollment modeling. The ideal candidate will be a high energy, motivational speaker and possess a deep understanding of enrollment and financial aid modeling that will support a diverse and talented student body, including undergraduate, transfer, and international admission and financial aid.
This position works collaboratively with colleagues across campus — in the offices of Institutional Advancement, Finance, marketing and communications, academic divisions, among others — to realize the mission of Marymount Manhattan College “to educate a socially and economically diverse student body by fostering intellectual achievement and personal growth and by providing opportunities for career development,” and to ensure that each student has an individualized experience from inquiry to acceptance to matriculation and beyond.
To do this, the AVP will be a strong collaborator and have a track record of designing and executing a vision to achieve the college’s enrollment aspirations and have the proven ability to gain the trust and support of colleagues across the institution. The AVP will promote the professional development of staff members in admission and financial aid; develop enhanced systems and structures to refine enrollment planning; and utilize data and technologies to reach enrollment targets and revenue goals. A strong understanding of today’s changing enrollment landscape (admission and financial aid planning), an unwavering commitment to enrolling students who can thrive at and contribute to MMC, a preference for collaborative work environments, and the ability to think creatively, innovate, and inspire students, faculty, and staff alike are also essential.
This position manages all enrollment operations, processing, and events, as well as the Center for Student Services, which includes financial aid, student accounts, and the bursar.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Managing approximately 20 staff members, an operating budget of more than $2 million, and distribution of over $23 million in student aid, including $22 million in institutional gift aid.

Providing leadership, direction, and coordination for a comprehensive enrollment and financial aid strategy that is consistent with the mission, values, goals, and resources of the College.

Clearly and consistently articulating the vision and plans for admission and financial aid and fostering transparency by engaging key College constituencies in strategic and timely ways.

Provide data driven enrollment management results; working within the division of Student Success and Engagement, as well as across the college with key stakeholders and partners, to develop and execute enrollment and aid strategies to ensure the college meets its budget and revenue needs.

Develop annual institutional financial aid strategies and budgets, to increase yield, monitor expenditures, and ensure adherence to both enrollment and net tuition revenue goals. These strategies will be used to make budget recommendations to the Vice President for Student Success and Engagement, as well as to senior management and key stakeholders at the college.

In concert with senior leadership, creating policies to support access initiatives, optimize financial aid, and manage net-tuition revenue.

Develop in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders a comprehensive marketing plan to build the enrollment funnel and establish an appropriate marketing campaign to progress prospective students through the funnel and become matriculated students.

Leading a talented admission and financial aid team to enhance collaboration and operate at the highest level of quality and efficiency.

Setting benchmark operational goals, identifying ways to achieve performance goals, and developing and reporting performance indicators to the College community.

Cultivating and maintaining highly collaborative working relationships with staff, faculty, and students; with a focus on working with academic units on admission standards, policy, and protocol; and enhancing the faculty recruitment program.

Advancing the College’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategic Plan;

Leveraging data analytics - develop and analyze a robust reporting plan for admissions and financial aid that will keep track of such items as enrollment and aid by major, market, population and project our over several years as part of the strategic enrollment plan (SEP). The data and reporting analytics will be shared within the division and across the college, facilitating data-sharing and recommendations to all key stakeholders.

Monitoring and communicating regional, state, national, and global enrollment trends, especially those with implications for MMC.

While the Associate Vice President will bring vision, knowledge, and expertise to our enrollment efforts, initial priorities have been identified as follows:

Develop a plan to maintain and grow enrollment at the level desired by the College. The new AVP will develop a multi-year plan that includes breakdowns of enrollment goals by program in collaboration with program chairs so that they are able to plan and provide input according to their needs.

Develop a multi-year financial aid strategy, focused on new student recruitment, as well as fostering persistence and completion.

Develop a multi-faceted, multi-year plan that will improve recruitment and enrollment of students from historically underrepresented groups and those underrepresented at MMC.

Establish ways to partner with senior leaders in refining enrollment targets on a year-to-year basis.

Job Description
Reporting to the Director of the Library, the Instructional & Adaptive Technology Specialist advances innovative teaching, informed by the scholarship of teaching and learning and best practices in curriculum design in online and blended (online and in-person) course delivery models; collaborates with a variety of college departments and personnel to support educational effectiveness to further student success outcomes; provides direct faculty development opportunities for using technology online and in the classroom; supports efforts to ensure ADA/508 compliance for campus-wide assistive technology for students; and is responsible for providing online accommodations with alternative media, ensuring compliances, and educating the staff and faculty on the implementation of ADA/508 legal obligations/requirements.
Roles/Responsibilities

Consult with faculty on the design of online and blended courses, including the articulation of learning objectives, development of assessments and assignments, and planning of learning activities;

In collaboration with the Center for Teaching Innovation and Excellence (C-TIE), IT, and the library, plan, implement, and assess online and in-person training modules in LMS, video conferencing and other instructional technologies for use in online and blended courses;

Engage experienced faculty to deliver workshops across the disciplines in instructional technology, providing instruction, and best practices for virtual learning, in one-on-one consultation or small groups;

Design and facilitate professional development events and resources for instructors with a particular emphasis on skills and strategies for online and in-class teaching, both for the entire campus community and for particular departments;

Provide consultations for faculty to facilitate enhancing and documenting student learning to incorporate High Impact Practices and diversity and inclusivity through course design and curricular programs;

Stay abreast of emerging trends in instructional technology and pedagogy through scholarly work on the theory and practice of instructional design and through participating in national conversations on instructional design;

Position Description
The HR Assistant provides significant support for the Director of Benefits, Compensation and HRIS and HR Department as a whole. This position primarily focuses upon admin support for the department, data entry, data maintenance, and the creation of spreadsheet reports.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Enters and maintains HR data into ADP Workforce Now for bi-weekly payroll
- Answers employee requests and inquiries
- Creates data tables, reports and related statistical materials that involve pulling data from HRIS system.
- Reconciles benefits data
- Processes HR invoices
- Assists with the processing of termination and COBRA coordination
- Ongoing maintenance of files and file imaging system
- Conducts maintenance of I-9 files
- Assists the Director of HRIS/Benefits/Compensation in various audits
- Liaises with other divisions of the college as needed
