Sofija Gligorov, from Kumanovo, Macedonia, studied Business Management, with a concentration in International Business and Economics. She was the valedictorian of the graduating class 2013. Sofija writes, “I am an MMC alum currently working in Corporate Treasury at JP Morgan Chase. I loved my experience at MMC because of the college’s location, its professors, and its inclusive community. MMC was my second family away from home, and I would definitely recommend it to other international students because they will never feel lonely at Marymount. The activities, the brilliant professors, the sounds of the city all make it an exciting adventure that drives one’s inner growth and boosts independence.”

Fashion Show 2019

The Business Division, alongside the Fashion Marketing Student Association (FMSA) and the Asian Students Association, celebrated the 6th Annual Fashion Show on April 10th, 2019. This year we celebrated and honored the wide range of cultures in our campus community. Students, faculty members, and staff proudly shared their cultural heritage through traditional dress.

Exploring New York City

The NYC seminar, The Contemporary Workplace, delved into readings on New York City and its evolution from a trading center to the mega-city it is today.

Here are some pictures of our walk through the Financial District. From the Charging Bull at Bowling Green Station, we walked along Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange. We walked past the historic Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and paused by Zuccotti Park, the site of ‘Occupy Wall Street,’ during the Great Recession.

We also visited the Museum of the City of New York to explore exhibits such as ‘NYC at its Core’ and ‘CityScapes,’ an interactive lab where visitors are encouraged to envision and design the environmentally conscious and sustainable NY City of the Future.
