Austin Nelson ’14

Class of 2014, Business major, Marketing concentration

“Being able to work on the Rachael Ray show set, help out with product giveaways, and more [as an intern] put me in a ‘real world’ environment to prepare me for life after graduation.”

About

Austin Nelson graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2014 with a BS in Business with a Marketing concentration. During his four years at MMC, he completed two internships; those internships, combined with the personalized attention from MMC faculty members, taught him invaluable lessons, including how to run a business and how to build on his professional network.

Nelson resides in Brooklyn and is a talent attraction partner for Falcon.io, an information technology company founded in Copenhagen, Denmark. Previously, he worked at Valtech, and as a travel contractor at WeWork, a company that focuses on providing community space for start-up companies and corporations.

In his spare time, you can find Nelson running, hiking, or drinking a good cider or whiskey. He is also the committee chair for the New York Cares Friends Committee, which raises over $50,000 a year for the charity through various events/happy hours. He continues to keep in touch with some favorite professors at MMC, including Professor Rao, who was a mentor for him both inside and outside the classroom. Nelson is proud of his alma mater and remembers his years here as the best time of his life.
