“There is no explanation for the feeling when the lights and cameras are all around you, and the presence of the brilliant Dr. Oz!

About

As a senior with a major in Business and minor in Graphic Design, I have always had a passion for the television industry. The most exciting part about my job is that every day is a new day. There are so many different positions to take on that I’m never doing the same task every day. These positions include working with the audience, helping the booking team with research, working in the studio, transcribing or going on shoots for the field team, and being an extra pair of eyes and ears for the producers.

My personal favorite position is the studio runner. Before each taping, Dr. Oz holds a one-hour rehearsal. Luckily for the interns, we get to be his “guests” while he rehearses. This studio runner position has definitely helped me to become more professional and punctual; for I am basically working with Dr. Oz! I’ve really had to learn a sense of focus and awareness of everything going on around me. As soon as my name is called, I am expected to be on set, in the right place.  At first, it felt intimidating, but now it’s just exhilarating. There is no explanation for the feeling when the lights and cameras are all around you, and the presence of the brilliant Dr. Oz!  After landing my current internship at The Dr. Oz Show, I have found that I love the TV industry even more. The most exciting part about my job is that every day is a new day.
