Student Spotlight: EWL Major Published in Salon

English & World Literatures major Alex-Quan Minh Pham recently had an article published in Salon.com.

Alex’s article, What do you call a “male feminist” who only wants to pick up women? Meet the “macktivists,” concerns men who call themselves feminists to creep on unsuspecting ladies, using the Internet to do so. He wrote the article as part of his Watson Fellowship internship at Scenarios USA.

Alex-Quan Minh Pham is from Fountain Valley, California. He will be a sophomore this fall, pursuing a major in English & World Literature, with a double minor in Creative Writing and Gender & Sexuality Studies. He is trilingual, speaking English, Spanish and Vietnamese. He was selected for the College’s Honor’s Program and appears on the Dean’s List. He is a participant in the College’s Emerging Leaders Program and is a Student Editor for the Marymount Manhattan Review.

Math Department Holds The Eleventh Annual Pi-Day Contest

Every year, the Mathematics department holds a College-wide π-Day contest. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit an original sentence, paragraph, poem, or short story that uses the digits of π in order (π ≈ 3.1415926..).
