Alumni News: Two Art Graduates Recognized

From magazine profiles to art galleries, the talents of two Studio Art graduates of Marymount Manhattan’s Art program have recently been warranting some welcome attention.

Lauren Gerrie ’05 was recently featured in “The Glamour Guide to Brunch,” in which Glamour profiles Ms. Gerrie and Flannery Klette-Kolton’s company, bigLITTLE Get Together.

Ms. Gerrie and her company were also featured last year in Life and Times. Ms. Gerrie is personal chef to Marc Jacobs, and she recently authored an article for PAPER magazine, where she will also appear in the April issue’s “Beautiful People.”


Ellie Ga ‘00 is a studio artist with an international reputation and art practice. She exhibited last year at the New Museum in New York and has had shows in Paris, Basel, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Bruxelles, and Vancouver.

Her next exhibition is Four Thousand Blocks, March 23 - April 27, 2014, at Bureau, 178 Norfolk Street in Brooklyn.

Math Department Holds The Eleventh Annual Pi-Day Contest

Every year, the Mathematics department holds a College-wide π-Day contest. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit an original sentence, paragraph, poem, or short story that uses the digits of π in order (π ≈ 3.1415926..).
