HEOP Launches the Parent and Alumni Reach Initiative!

HEOP Parent and Alumni Managers, Jerandy Beato and Zaheraa Ramsahoye-Khan launched the Parent and Alumni Reach Initiative with the intentions of engaging alumni and bridging the gap between current and former students.

Despite Fall 2021 being a virtual semester, Zaheraa and Jerandy were able to make Homecoming Weekend just as special! They crafted a Homecoming Video where HEOP students expressed gratitude towards their HEOP family. Additionally, they released the inaugural Parent and Alumni Reach Letter which highlight their goals and objectives for the Spring 2021 semester:

1. Reach out to all HEOP alumni in the database
2. Host at least one virtual event
3. Gather on-going feedback to improve the Parent and Alumni Reach Initiative

They are working endlessly to meet these goals and have launched the “Tips from HEOP Alumni” monthly series. Jerandy and Zaheraa interviewed a HEOP alum each month to discuss topics about self-care, graduate school, creating a professional network and life after college. Special appearances from Tatiana Valencia ’18, Catherine Shimabuku ’20 and Bryan Veloz ’17. We hope you enjoy!
