MMC One of the ‘Elite’ Musical Theatre Institutions Revolutionizing the Application Process

A new Broadway World feature announces the creation of the Musical Theatre Common Pre-Screen, a universal collection of pre-screen requirements for students applying to college and university Musical Theatre programs. Marymount Manhattan has signed on to participate, helping streamline the application process for students.

Spearheaded by Stephen Agosto, Senior Manager of Artistic Engagement at Paper Mill Playhouse, the Musical Theatre Common Pre-Screen reduces the number of portfolio pieces students need to create to apply to multiple programs, and also improves the screening processes for colleges and universities.

From the article:

“Nearly forty schools have signed on with the Common Pre-Screen including some of the industry’s most elite institutions such as Elon, Marymount Manhattan, Shenandoah, Boston Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon, Texas State, and Ithaca.”
