Keaven Caro ’17 Accepted to MD/PhD Program

Keaven Caro, an alumnus of the Biology and Behavioral Neuroscience programs at MMC, has been accepted to UConn School of Medicine and Graduate School for the entering class of 2019.

The University of Connecticut has offered Keaven a full tuition waiver for his MD/PhD, along with a generous annual stipend. Keaven will pursue his PhD in Neuroscience.

Keaven graduated from MMC in 2017 with a double major in Biology and Behavioral Neuroscience. Since graduation, he has been working as a Research Assistant at the Friedman Brain Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Keaven reports, “I could not have accomplished so much without all of your expert guidance and knowledge in the natural sciences! The MMC Natural Science department is a true gem with priceless staff.”

Safety Precautions and Synchronous Learning: MMC Laboratories in the Time of COVID

As MMC worked to reopen its Main Campus for the Fall 2020 semester, the Department of Natural Sciences developed a plan to continue performing in-person laboratory courses while also accommodating remote learners. MMC’s science labs underwent extensive safety reinforcement to allow in-person students to participate in labs with their remote partners learning from home.
