Meet Your Peer Leaders

New York City Seminars are characterized by the participation of a Peer Leader—an upper-level student who works in tandem with the course professor and helps students learn the ropes and navigate MMC and life in the city. Peer Leaders go through an intensive training in order to become trusted advisors who serve as resources for students both inside and outside the classroom

Meet a few of our 2020-2021 Peer Leaders:

  • Major/Minor: Double Major in Theatre (Producing and Management concentration) and Public Relations, Minor in Arts Management

Hi friends, I’m Megan (she/her/hers)! I’m from Staten Island, but am calling East Harlem my home for now. I’m a double major in Theatre with a concentration in Producing and Management and Public Relations with a minor in Arts Management (I’m very happy to talk about double majors with you if you’d like!). On campus, I’m the Vice President of the Mickey Mouse Club, often volunteer with Marymount Muscle, and am one of Griffy’s tour guides. Fun fact about me: the beluga whale is my FAVORITE animal!!! Hope to see ya around on Zoom!

I’m from Southern California, so I love New York in the spring and summer but I suffer severely once the temperature drops below 70 degrees. Peer leadership has allowed me to break out of my shell and become a more extroverted version of myself while helping new students adjust to MMC life.
