United Nations Virtual Workshop

Summer 2021 program

Marymount Manhattan College is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in regards to our Summer 2021 Summer Academy Program offerings. As always, the College remains committed toward providing a safe learning environment for all of our students, faculty and staff.

Virtual Program Description

Summer Academy United Nations Program

This program will explore the key aspects of the history, theory, and practice of the United Nations (UN). We will also examine some of the critical issues the UN is currently confronting—including the UN’s engagement with the COVID-19 epidemic. This session will be led by Professor Andreas Hernandez, Ph.D., Chair of MMC’s International Studies Department. We will also be joined by Dr. Amit Bhattacharyya, a retired senior official of the UN Secretariat, who will speak about his diverse experiences as a UN practitioner and field questions from students about life and work in the UN system.

We anticipate being able to make a decision as to how we will deliver our summer 2021 programs by mid-January, after which the 2021 application will be made available.
