Kelly Ann Peña ’13

Class of 2013, Major in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

“What can I say about Marymount Manhattan? If you want an individualized academic experience where professors not only know your name but want you to succeed, then MMC is the place for you. The CSD department allowed real world application in addition to their curriculum, which took our learning past what we did in the classroom. This included clinical practicums during our undergraduate career, research positions, internships, and independent studies. In my two years at MMC as a transfer student from a larger university, I could not have asked for more opportunities and support from the college as a whole. These experiences, and these people, allowed me to jumpstart my graduate career, both academically and clinically, and set me on the road for success.”

About

After graduating from MMC’s Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology program in 2013, Peña earned her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. She is currently a Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist at Rusk Rehabilitation in NYU Langone Health Center and teaches Research Methods in the CSD department at Marymount Manhattan.

“If you have an interest or a goal, MMC will do their best to make it a reality. I could not be more grateful for the people I have met at MMC, the professional and personal connections I have made, and the work I have been a part of.”
