Spotlight Story

A transfer student from the University of Pennsylvania looking for a place “beyond the Ivies,” Lisa Dupree came to Marymount Manhattan College in search of an education and career in television production.  Majoring in Communications and Media Arts, her professors advocated writing, technical production, and internships that could open doors after graduation.  A professor connected Lisa to a colleague at a new cable television network where an internship opportunity afforded her responsibilities in everything from camera and live shows, to working with reporters and going out into the field with photographers. It was ultimately her passkey to a production assistant’s position on a new syndicated morning news show.

Lisa currently serves as CNBC’s Vice President of the Media Content Center overseeing a team of 25 responsible for the lifecycle management of the network’s broadcast media – from acquisition through archiving, to workflow and implementation of the network’s media asset management system and infrastructure. In summer 2015 she attended the National Association for Black Journalists convention as a recruiter for CNBC, she was nominated as a Mentor for women to “Know Your Value,” Morning Joe’s (MSNBC) nationwide movement to empower women in the workplace, and most recently, was a part of a professional development series at MMC for graduating Seniors.

Lisa resides in the tri-state area with her husband, loves good suspense or murder mystery novels, and travels extensively.
