Spotlight Story
Jordan Elizabeth Gelber ’10 is proud to credit MMC for putting her on a path toward success. “My college experience transformed me into the person I am today. Marymount Manhattan gave me a voice and allowed me to find my own way,” she says. “Being a double major and double minor, I was able to fuel my creative needs with practical business needs.”
Gelber’s senior thesis, which examined how young professionals in the entertainment industry use social networking sites to brand and market themselves, was the foundation of her current company, Starbaby Enterprises. Through Starbaby, Gelber leads coaching programs that teach actors and other creative professionals how to successfully market themselves via online platforms.
Additionally, Gelber co-produces with Bonnie Bruderer the AskBonBon TV show, soon to be internationally syndicated. Gelber has also created a community of female artists called the “Bon Bon Girls” that spreads the message of women empowering other women.
She says, “Work takes up my life, but that’s because I don’t consider it work. I love what I do!”
