Martin Charnin Teaches MMC Master Class

Martin Charnin, lyricist, writer and director (Annie), along with his wife, Shelly Burch, singer and actress (Nine), recently taught a three hour Master Class for all graduating seniors in Christine Riley’s Musical Theatre class.

Each student in the class performed a 16 bar selection and received comments.

As a result, five students are being considered for parts in the new Troika tour of Annie, directed by Charnin.

Charnin also coached some sophomores on songs from his collection called “Incurably Romantic.”

The Theatre Department is in talks to produce a workshop of a new show by Thomas Meehan, David Sipos and Charnin next spring.
