Announcing the Bedford Hills College Program 2014 Commencement
About the Bedford Hills College Program
Through Marymount Manhattan College’s Bedford Hills College Program, women who are incarcerated at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Westchester County, NY, enroll in college-preparatory courses, and courses leading to Associate of Arts degrees in Social Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology.
As with all education programs for people within the prison system, Marymount Manhattan’s Bedford Hills College Program remains the single most effective tool for decreasing the likelihood of a return to prison.
Marymount Manhattan College President Judson R. Shaver, Ph.D.; administrators; faculty; graduates’ families; BHCP benefactors and supporters; and students from MMC will be in attendance to celebrate the academic achievement of BHCP students.
Further coverage will be available here upon commencement.
The program is entirely funded through MMC and the generosity of its donors. Marymount Manhattan also has established the BHCP endowment to ensure the program’s perpetuity.
