Faculty News: American Museum of Natural History Offers Course Taught by MMC Professor

From the AMNH site: Become fluent in the science of climate change in this course led by Museum curators and other experts in the fields of earth and planetary research, climate modeling and visualization, conservation biology, anthropology, and science communication… Organized around case studies,“Our Earth’s Future” offers a unique opportunity to gain solid understanding of key scientific principles, analyze scientific data, confront misconceptions, visualize data-driven climate scenarios, and learn how to communicate about global climate phenomena. The course is led by Dr. Debra Tillinger, whose unique accomplishments include research in Ocean and Climate Physics, physics professor at Marymount Manhattan College, and public educator in climate and earth science seen across venues throughout New York City including the annual Mermaid Lagoon in Brooklyn, now in its fourth year.

However, anyone interested in a course taught by Professor Tillinger may be better served staying put at Marymount Manhattan. The “Our Earth’s Future” courses are currently sold out.
