Faculty News: English Professor’s Book Garners Positive Review

The Sentimental Theater of the French Revolution, a book by Marymount Manhattan College Associate Professor of English Cecilia Feilla, was praised in the Winter 2013 issue of Comparative Drama.

The article’s author states that Feilla’s book is “among the most significant contributions to our understanding of the theater of the French Revolution … One of the greatest strengths of The Sentimental Theater of the French Revolution lies in Feilla’s close readings of plays that have traditionally been treated as historical artifacts, rather than aesthetic creations in their own rights.” Read the full review at: https://muse.jhu.edu/journals/comparative_drama/v047/47.4.robert.pdf
