Marymount Manhattan College Graduate Selected as Spring 2014 Intern at Kennedy Center

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts selected Marymount Manhattan College graduate Nicole Reinholdt for its prestigious, nationally recognized internship program. The DeVos Institute of Arts Management, a part of the Kennedy Center, administers the program. From January to May 2014, she will intern in the Volunteer Management department, Friends of the Kennedy Center division.

Ms. Reinholdt, daughter of Candace Colby and Richard Edward Reinholdt, is from Missoula, Montana. She received her undergraduate degree in International Studies from Marymount Manhattan College in May 2013. During her undergraduate career, Ms. Reinholdt won the 2013 Dymphna Leonard Award in Fiction, awarded by the Marymount Manhattan Review Literary Magazine. Prior to her internship at the Kennedy Center, Ms. Reinholdt was a student at the Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre in Missoula. In 2007, the company was invited on a cultural exchange trip to China, sponsored by Montana’s senior senator, Max Baucus, and Chinese ambassador Zhou Wenzhong. Ms. Reinholdt was chosen to speak at performances and in local news media on behalf of the company.

As the Friends of the Kennedy Center intern, Ms. Reinholdt is learning the basic principles of management such as recruitment, retention, and recognition. She is also involved in all other aspects of the volunteer program as well. Ms. Reinholdt is working on event planning, the newsletter, graphic design, festival volunteer coordination and recruitment procedures, supervision of outreach programs, outreach to the International community and the Friends Social Networking Program, and research on arts volunteerism throughout the United States as well as in other countries.
