Division of Business Scholarship Reception

Students, alumni, faculty, and donors joined President Shaver to celebrate scholarship recipients.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, Marymount Manhattan College honored Division of Business scholarship recipients at a reception in the campus’ new Faculty Center. Students were joined by faculty, alumni, and staff to celebrate academic achievement among business majors and to express gratitude to generous scholarship donors.

Mark Finkel and Helen Metzger of the Stanley Finkel Endowed Scholarship Fund attended as guests of President Judson Shaver. Several individuals who support the Dr. Marvelle S. Colby Endowed Scholarship Fund also attended, including Hope Knight ’85 (MMC Trustee), Michelle Kilic ’93, Peggy Fung ’03, and Diana Jacobs Kalman, a former faculty member within the Business Division. Donors expressed their admiration for MMC’s talented, hard-working students, and scholarship recipients were deeply grateful for the opportunity to thank the donors in person.

Nina Carter ’16, spoke on behalf of the students to convey their appreciation for scholarship aid. President Shaver spoke about the importance of financial support for students: “I would like to add my sincere gratitude for your financial support to our extraordinary students. Your contribution means so much to so many, and helps to close the financial gap in earning a high-quality education.”
