Fulbright Scholar Madison Weisend ’20 Teaches English in South Korea

Madison Weisend ’20, an alumna of the Environmental Studies and Politics & Human Rights programs, reports from her English Teaching Assistantship in South Korea. 

Madison Weisend ’20 has embarked on her Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship at an agricultural vocational high school in South Korea. While her assistantship was delayed due to COVID-19, she was able to start in January and will be teaching through 2021. After the end of her teaching assistantship, Madison plans to continue her studies as a Master’s student at the London School of Economics. Safety Precautions and Synchronous Learning: MMC Laboratories in the Time of COVID

As MMC worked to reopen its Main Campus for the Fall 2020 semester, the Department of Natural Sciences developed a plan to continue performing in-person laboratory courses while also accommodating remote learners. MMC’s science labs underwent extensive safety reinforcement to allow in-person students to participate in labs with their remote partners learning from home.
