Hewitt Gallery of Art Reopens with ‘Changing Lanes’

After a virtual hiatus due to COVID-19, a new exhibition graces the walls of the Hewitt. Changing Lanes: Painters Explore Dimension in Clay will run in the Hewitt Gallery of Art from October 19December 2, 2020.

Curated by Judy Mannarino, adjunct instructor in Art and Art History, alongside Hallie Cohen, MFA, Professor of Art and Director of the Hewitt Gallery, the Changing Lanes exhibit features five painters who have shifted gears and adopted a ceramic practice that complements their established creative vision.

“I have noticed more and more painters using clay,” says Mannarino. “You can think you’re alone working in your studio, but there is a collective energy out there that somehow connects us. I made note of it and wanted to examine the ‘Changing Lanes’ of artists who were painting, yet had the desire to work with clay.”

Exhibiting artists include: Sarah Bedford, Seth Michael Forman, Margaret Lanzetta, Judy Mannarino, and Michelle Weinberg.

A virtual tour of the exhibit is available here.

Congratulations to our featured artists!
