Ima Otto-During ’20 Selected as the 2020 Class Speaker

Ima Otto-During ’20, a BFA Acting major, was chosen through a competitive selection process as the Class Speaker for the Class of 2020. Although the May 2020 ceremony had to be postponed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Otto-During will address her classmates during the rescheduled ceremony in the fall.

Born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, to West African immigrant parents, Ima Otto-During is a first generation American. In addition to completing the BFA Acting program, which she loves dearly, Otto-During also served as a student worker in the Theatre Office during her time at MMC. She has performed in two Mainstage productions and one Studio production at the College.

Her college experience taught her how to take ownership of her artistry, and she looks forward to pursuing a career as a professional actor. “Over the years, I have truly fallen in love with this school, the faculty, the staff, and our community,” says Otto-During. “If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. I send all my best wishes to the College, my class, and to all the future graduates to come!”
