MMC to Host Fifth Annual Golf Tournament at The Stanwich Club

(New York, NY) Marymount Manhattan College will host a great day of golf during the Fifth Annual Golf Tournament, October 6, at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Connecticut.

The Stanwich Club is one of the country’s most prestigious championship golf courses featuring five sets of tee boxes for golfers of all skill levels.

Proceeds from the 2008 Golf Tournament will support need-based scholarships for students attending Marymount Manhattan College. The event will commence with registration and brunch followed by a shot gun start. The evening will close with cocktails and dinner.

The Stanwich Club hosted the Met Open in 1972 and in 1996. The club boasts the following champions as members: George Zahringer, five-time Met Amateur champion, Mike Sanger quarterfinalist in the British Amateur in the 1970’s and Tom Yellin, television producer who reached the quarter finals in the 1988 U.S. Amateur. Math Department Holds The Eleventh Annual Pi-Day Contest

Every year, the Mathematics department holds a College-wide π-Day contest. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit an original sentence, paragraph, poem, or short story that uses the digits of π in order (π ≈ 3.1415926..).
