MMC Welcome Week Kicks Off for the Class of 2023!

Sponsored by the Office of Student Development and Activities (SDA), Marymount Manhattan College’s annual Welcome Week and Orientation brings new and transfer students to campus for fun activities and informational workshops before the official start to the semester.

MMC Welcome Week 2019 is chock full of fun events on campus, including laser tag, yoga on the terrace, a zumba class, karaoke, and more led by student Peer Leaders and SDA staff members. New Griffins also have the opportunity to meet faculty members and learn about the College through useful information sessions and community-building meetups, like Tuesday’s Students of Color Reception and Wednesday’s International Students Meet-Up and First Generation Program Reception

Welcome Week is also crucial in helping new students acclimate to New York City. Students choose from a variety of activities to explore their new surroundings, including walking tours of Central Park or Rockefeller Center, performances at the Apollo Theater’s famous “Amateur Night” in historic Harlem, star-gazing on Chelsea’s High Line park, and a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge while enjoying a New York City bagel.

Welcome Week concludes with MMC’s annual New Student Convocation, a festive induction ceremony for the incoming class, on Thursday, August 29.
