Senior Asma Rathod ’20 Awarded Gilman Scholarship to Study Abroad in Greece

Many congratulations to Asma Rathod ’20, a Communication Arts major and Psychology minor, who will spend the fall 2019 semester at the American College of Thessaloniki, located in Greece’s second-largest city.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs, the Gilman Scholarship program partly funds study abroad for undergraduate students, thereby providing them with international experience that will help them to thrive in the global economy.  While there are restrictions, the award is available to students in all majors.

“I am ecstatic to have been given such an opportunity,” says Rathod. “Greece is home to many archaeological treasures and has such a rich history. I can’t wait to learn about the culture and to cultivate the ultimate study abroad experience!”

The Gilman Scholarship is one of four study-abroad grants managed by the External Student Scholarships program at MMC. To learn more about applying for these scholarships, visit our External Student Scholarships page
