On Friday, May 17, 2019, Marymount Manhattan College graduated nearly 400 Bachelor degree recipients at its 70th Commencement Exercises, held this year at Lincoln Center’s iconic David Geffen Hall.
Family and friends, students, faculty, and staff packed David Geffen Hall for this year’s Commencement ceremony, during which Poet Laureate of the US, Tracy K. Smith, was bestowed an Honorary Doctorate. Both the Valedictorian, Rachel Nevins, and Senior Class Speaker, Jaswin “Billie” Sangha, addressed attendees, speaking on their undergraduate careers, the challenges faced, and the community they found at MMC.

Every year, the Mathematics department holds a College-wide π-Day contest. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit an original sentence, paragraph, poem, or short story that uses the digits of π in order (π ≈ 3.1415926..).
