Biology Professor Publishes Magazine Article
Professor Ann Aguanno
Dr. Ann Aguanno, Ph.D., Professor of Biology, published an article in ASBMB Today, the members’ magazine of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Dr. Aguanno’s article is included the January 2019 issue of ASBMB Today. The article describes a series of faculty development workshops that Dr. Aguanno co-organized, including a recent workshop at Montclair State University on class activities and pedagogy strategies in life sciences. The Montclair event also initiated a new workshop series, called “Catalysts Conversations” that will be held across the country in 2019. Dr. Aguanno will host one of these faculty workshops at MMC on May 4.

Safety Precautions and Synchronous Learning: MMC Laboratories in the Time of COVID
As MMC worked to reopen its Main Campus for the Fall 2020 semester, the Department of Natural Sciences developed a plan to continue performing in-person laboratory courses while also accommodating remote learners. MMC’s science labs underwent extensive safety reinforcement to allow in-person students to participate in labs with their remote partners learning from home.
