MMC Business Professor Selected as a Forbes Under 30 Scholar

Elisee (Eli) Joseph, Adjunct Professor of Business Management at Marymount Manhattan College, was selected by Forbes and JPMorgan Chase to join the 2018 Forbes Under 30 Scholar Program.

This honor grants Joseph access to the Forbes Under 30 Summit this fall from September 30-October 3. The Summit, now in its fifth year, has become a preeminent opportunity for the world’s community of young leaders to learn, network, and collaborate, with more than 7,000 young entrepreneurs, founders, executives, visionaries, innovators, and disruptors in attendance. Additionally, the event features more than 200 world-class speakers, including investors, celebrities, musicians, sports stars, cultural icons, and political and business leaders. Joining this year’s list of featured speakers are Former US Secretary of State and Senator John Kerry; Co-founder of AOL Steve Case; mathematician, MIT Professor, and former NFL player John Urschel; and musician Cardi B, among many others. 

In addition to teaching at MMC, Joseph is also a Faculty Associate at Columbia University. He is a statistician, TEDx speaker, and doctoral candidate currently in the penultimate phase of the Doctor of Business Administration program at Felician University. Joseph was a Grow with Google Scholarship Recipient and has also received honors as a Finalist in the Morgan Stanley Quantitative Finance Prize for Excellence. He was recently featured in a Q&A on Harvard Business School’s blog discussing his academic career and plans for the future.

Math Department Holds The Eleventh Annual Pi-Day Contest

Every year, the Mathematics department holds a College-wide π-Day contest. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit an original sentence, paragraph, poem, or short story that uses the digits of π in order (π ≈ 3.1415926..).
