Sr. Ellen Marie Keane, 83, was a member of the RSHM for 63 years. She received a BA in Philosophy from Marymount College, Tarrytown, and an MA and Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. Throughout her career, she taught at Marymount College, Tarrytown, both before and after its merger with Fordham University, serving at various points as Dean of Freshmen and Department Head.

Sr. Ellen Marie was a trustee of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. She was also a trustee of MMC from 2002–2011, during which time she served on the Academic Affairs Committee and Student Affairs Committee. Additionally, she taught in MMC’s Bedford Hills College Program at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women and was a volunteer ESL teacher.

Sr. Máire McQuillan, 97, previously known as Sister Brendan, was a member of the RSHM for 78 years. Hailing from Drogheda, Ireland, she received a BA in English from Marymount College, Tarrytown; an MA in French from McGill University, Quebec; and a Ph.D. in French from Laval University in Quebec.

As President of Marymount College, Tarrytown for nine years (1960–1969), Sr. Máire was instrumental in helping MMC become an independent college, in 1961.

President Kerry Walk and the MMC community extend deepest condolences to the families and friends of Sr. Ellen Marie and Sr. Máire, whose lives touched so many.
